In this six week session, caregivers and children will enjoy learning about the different sounds instruments make, singing songs, and reading books about music! This play-to-learn group will include free play time, circle time, snack time, and gross motor play in the gym.

Starting November 1st our center will be open for all of the original drop-in and open gym times in addition to these new times for Natick families:
Mondays (General Drop-In): 2:00-4:00p
Thursdays (General Drop-In): 2:00-4:00p
No registration is required to utilize these drop-in times so come visit us at our room in The Cole Center!

Natick Early Childhood Network’s 9th Annual Early Education and Care Open House is coming up next Wednesday, October 27 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Cole Center Gym, 179 Boden Lane in Natick.
Whether you’re researching preschools for next fall, considering home- or center-based daycare for your little one so you can go to work or school, or investigating private schools that begin at PreK age, our EEC Open House is a great resource for your family!
Over 20 childcare and preschool providers will attend to meet with families at this free event; it’s a wonderful opportunity for you to begin the process of finding the care or school that fits your family’s needs.
Complimentary childcare will be offered in our Family Center Playroom down the hall from the gym, in 30-minute increments. You must pre-register for childcare. Call the NECN office at 508-655-2557 to reserve a spot for your children while you visit with providers in the gym.
If you don’t need child care, walk-ins are welcome, so tell your friends and we hope to see you next week!

It’s time for our 2nd Annual Holiday Photo Fundraiser! NECN mom and professional photographer Kasia Jastrzebska is once again donating her time and talent to NECN so that you can have great holiday photos of your kids while you support NECN’s programs and expenses!
On Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, here at the Cole Center, Kasia will photograph your child(ren) in a 15-minute session, complete with holiday props. You can check out Kasia’s wonderful photos on her website, Photography by Kasia.
For a donation of $25 to NECN, you’ll receive an 8 x 10 print of your choice, plus 2 digital negatives that you can print at a local or online photo lab.
Call soon to reserve your 15-minute appointment; times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis! It’s a great opportunity to get your holiday photos taken care of early in the season, and we can’t thank Kasia enough for sharing her time and her artistry with us once again this year. Costumes are available in the NECN family center playroom for a $5 donation! These are left over from our first-ever Costume Swap earlier in October, and you can still pick up a princess or super-hero costume for dress-up or Halloween for a $5 donation to NECN! When you begin your online holiday shopping this year, please remember to use the link on NECN’s website to amazon.com! Simply go to our home page and click on the amazon.com button on the right, or use this link to shop. From that point on, it’s a normal amazon.com shopping session for you, but NECN, as an Amazon Associate Non-Profit Member, receives credit totalling 4% of your purchase to use for supplies for our playgroups, family center and office! For the holidays, and all year long, NECN families can now order books for chidren — babies all the way through middle-school-aged – online, with your books delivered free to the NECN office for pick-up!
We have numerous Scholastic catalogs to browse online, with new catalogs added each month so that you can nab that hot new book that all the kids are talking about at school. There’s no need to pick up the flyers in our office, simply shop right on the Scholastic website.
Go to scholastic.com/bookclubs where you can create an account for your family, then use theClass Activation Code “H7RBH” and NECN will receive credit for books to use in our playroom, our literacy-based groups, and our new baby welcome bags.
Place your order online, pay with a credit card, and once a month we’ll process the orders and books will be shipped to our office for you to pick up. If you’re not a registered NECN family, please be sure to give us a call or send an email to pkoskovich@accept.org if you place an order, so that we’ll know who you are, and can contact you, when your order arrives.

First-time moms can engage in discussions about the rewarding, but demanding, transition to motherhood. It’s a great place to share what’s working for you, and to gain new strategies from other new moms who really understand you!
